But how does man come to know that God is love? That love is because God is? That the love of God is not only available for any man to experience, it is available for any man to demonstrate? How do we come to know the true nature of love? By reading a book or embracing a particular philosophy or doctrine? Do we learn love from the Bible? From other human beings who expound it/ Do we learn about the nature of love by practice? Is it an emotional or a spiritual exercise?
It is all of these to lesser and greater degrees, but it is more....
We can only learn of love as we learn of God. Jesus said, ...."Learn of Me"
There is no other way to learn of love

Three days of the Virtue of Love/Charity
Day 3 Virtue of Love/Charity
More Love
Lord, it is my chief complaint;
That my love is weak and faint;
Yet I love thee and adore,
Oh for grace to love thee more!
William Cowper
CC1825 Christ died out of love for us, while we were still “enemies”. The Lord asks us to love as he does, even our enemies, to make ourselves the neighbor of those farthest away, and to love children and the poor as Christ himself.
So how is it going? Would love to hear your thoughts. All are welcome to comment.

Another Way to Live Love/Charity
Growing in Christian Virtue through Prayer
Pick a Christian virtue to grow in your life.
Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your meditation.
Reflect 10 minutes or so on that virtue.
Read something about that virtue; perhaps from the Catechism or a quote from one of the Saints.
At the end of the day ask; “How did I live this virtue today?”
Act; make a decision to implement a way to live out that virtue.
Continue this pattern for several days before moving on to another virtue.
Day 2 on Virtue Love/Charity
“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy hole heart, with thy whole soul and with thy whole mind.” This is the commandment of the great God, and He cannot command the impossible. Love is a fruit in season at all times, and within reach of every hand. Anyone may gather it and no limit is set.
Blessed Mother Teresa
CC1823 Jesus makes charity the New Commandment. By loving His own “to the end” He makes manifest the Father’s love which He receives. By loving one another, the disciples imitate the love of Jesus which they themselves receive. Whence Jesus says: “As the Father has love me, so have I loved you; abide in my love.” And again: “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”

Three Days with Virtues
The topic of Virtues was brought up by our Pastor recently, and I thought it would be a good exercise for us to practice one each week..... and would perhaps bring some discussion to the group. I hope to see your comments on these Virtues......join in.

Galatians 5:22-23 But he fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
CC1766 “To love is to will the good of another.” All other affections have their source in this first movement of the human heart toward the good.
How can you live this out today......or tell us about another way that you live out the Virtue of Love/Charity.

Art and Spirit blog is returning
This blog is about and for artists. It is also about and for our Spirits. I include the Spiritual dimension, because my faith is the center of my life, and I know it is at the center of many other’s lives.
I encourage artists to come here for discussions related to the art industry, whether it is your hobby, or your livelihood. I also encourage your Spirituality to shine here, and hope this will become a place where you can be enriched.
This blog will be a place (I hope) to nourish your soul, a place to share your feelings and opinions of your journey with Christ, whether it be through your art or in discussion topics and/or articles.
I created this blog a few years ago, and have not posted for awhile as I was working to grow my Mary Kay Business......that is going well....however, I miss my art and want to get back in the groove. I want to share faith with all of you out there. I will be posting art work from my website through Fine Art America/Pixels.....my website is: seimagesonline. I hope to be able to post images from artist friends that I meet through Fine Art America and here on this blog.

Novena Prayer to All Saints
My heavenly brothers and sisters, from those most renowned to those of greatest obscurity, I come before you now in all humility and commend myself, and all who are dear to me, to your intercession.
Pray for us always, that we may awake each day with a burning desire for the Lord whose Face you behold, that we will maintain an intimate personal relationship with Jesus, our Savior and Head, and that we will not hesitate to proclaim God’s greatness to others, and love them as the Lord loves us.
As you offer your continual praise before the throne of God, I raise my heart to you now to implore your powerful intercession for these special needs: (………).
I am confident that your prayers on our behalf will be graciously heard by our loving and merciful Lord. By his grace, may we someday join you in the glory of the Father’s house.

Praying the Rosary
"Take great care to
avoid the two pitfalls that most people fall into during the Rosary. The first
is the danger of not asking for any graces at all. So, whenever you say your
Rosary, be sure to ask for some special grace or virtue, or strength to
overcome some sin."

Offering of Oneself
Another beautiful little prayer from my treasured little book.
Accept, O Lord, this offering of my liberty, memory understanding and will. All that I am and have, Thou hast given me. I want to restore everything to Thee, O Lord. Dispose of me as it shall please Thee. All that I ask is Thy Grace and Thy Love. With these alone I shall be rich enough. I ask nothing more.

Prayer by an Old Lady
Another beautiful writing from my little treasure book. Recite before Mass
My loving Lord, a thousand welcomes! O Son of Mary, I love You, indeed I do. Who am I at all that You should come next or near me? O God of Heaven! Make a little corner for me in Your Heart, and never, while there’s life in me, let me lose my place there, and after death may I still hide there. Amen
Have pity on me, O Blessed Mother, talk to my God for me. Tell Him I ‘m a poor ignorant creature, full of nothing but sin and misery, but that I love you, His Own dear Mother; and that I am a poor follower of Him, and for your sweet sake, to help and pity me. Amen
